The Kerala RTO (Regional Transport Office) network plays a vital role in regulating and managing road transport services across the state. It is responsible for vehicle registration, issuing and renewing driving licences, collecting road taxes, granting permits, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations. Every registered vehicle in Kerala is assigned a unique KL RTO code, which helps identify the specific RTO office where the vehicle was registered.
These RTO codes are used for various administrative purposes, including ownership transfers, insurance applications, vehicle verification, and record management. Kerala RTO offices also oversee services such as learner's licences, fitness certificates, and permit issuance for commercial vehicles. Whether you are registering a new vehicle or looking for transport-related information, understanding Kerala RTO codes and office details can make the process easier and more convenient.
Every vehicle registered in the state is assigned a unique KL RTO code that indicates the Regional Transport Office where the vehicle was registered. These Kerala RTO codes help identify the registration jurisdiction and are an essential part of vehicle registration in Kerala.

Step 1: Obtain a temporary registration from the dealer. Temporary registration is generally valid for one month and allows the vehicle to be driven until permanent registration is completed.

Step 1: Submit Form 25 along with the original RC, valid insurance certificate, PUC certificate, address proof, tax receipt, PAN/Form 60, and the prescribed renewal fee.
Step 2: Present the vehicle for fitness inspection at the Kerala RTO, where its roadworthiness and compliance are examined.
Step 3: Pay the applicable renewal charges and clear any pending dues, if applicable.
Step 4: The renewed Registration Certificate is issued after successful inspection and approval by the registering authority.
